Our ambition is simple : to give everyone access to clean, inexhaustible and locally produced energy, which means wind power.
The wind blows everywhere in the world but in many cases trying to generate wind power is a real challenge. Climate extremes, access problems, installation problems at the operations site, maintenance, etc... All these are constraints that conventional wind turbines cannot overcome, or only at prohibitive cost.
Vergnet, innovative by nature, has developed unique and efficient solutions to surmount these challenges :
co-development : supporting our clients in their projects
Vergnet goes far beyond simply supplying turbines. True partners in your project, our teams are present on the ground. They stay involved and support you effectively throughout your project's entire development. This support extends to all fields concerned, including technical, commercial and financial advice.
Installing wind turbines at the other end of the world makes no sense unless servicing & maintenance can be guaranteed throughout their lifetime, a minimum of 20 years.
Strong local presence
Three Vergnet subsidiaries - Vergnet Caribbean, Vergnet Indian Ocean and Vergnet Pacific, wisely located close to problematic wind farm regions - provide local services for technical assistance, expertise, spares distribution, and after-sales. These operational bases host the necessary skills, tools and spares.
They are staffed by local people who are hired, trained and mentored on a long-term basis by Vergnet. This principle of anchoring technical teams in the local population guarantees longevity. It is also strong testimony to Vergnet's commitment to respect local culture and sustainable development.
A real transfer of skills
Our aim : to allow users to fully own their power generation tool and make it a source of development and revenue for the community. To do that, we transfer our skills to the local operating teams with full transparency, and remain continually available to provide any training and support needs they may have.
A wind turbine is made up of many big elements. To be able to install them anywhere in the world, we have simplified the process as much as possible, to adapt to the most constrained situations.
Simplified logistics
The inspired design of our wind turbines allows us to transport them to places that are very difficult to access or are serviced by makeshift roads (islands, desert regions) without generating excessive costs. All the elements are transported in standard containers, except for the blades which are simply transported as a crated load on standard flatbed trucks. No heavy cranes are required, even for our 70-metre wind turbines. Two Vergnet inventions, Verlift® et Birdlike®, allow a GEV HP turbine to be installed using a 70 t crane or less.
Light civil engineering
Installing our machines requires very basic civil engineering, easily findable and inexpensive in any region of the globe. Our machines require smaller foundations than conventional wind turbines.
Our many technological innovations have been widely proven, with more than 700 Vergnet wind turbines in operation around the world :
