Electricity Generated from Sun and Wind Rises by 70 Per Cent

New figures show that the share of electricity generated from the sun and wind by the world’s 20 major economies, has risen by more than 70 per cent in the space of five years.

The data highlights the growth of newer forms of green energy including solar and wind farms, which have been encouraged through government subsidies in many countries in an attempt to combat global warming.

Vergnet is also currently working on Osogbo solar power plant in Osun, Nigeria which is to be commissioned in 2018. This will be a 13 MWp solar PV plant; the first of such magnitude to be installed in Nigeria.
