Solar PV Solutions Deliver Energy and Cost Savings for Osun State, Nigeria
The Oshogbo solar power plant will be the first of its kind the West African sub-region. It is based on an innovative public/private partnership between France and Nigeria, initiated by both Presidents in 2014. The project integrates the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of a 13 MWp solar PV plant, the first of such magnitude to be installed in Nigeria. The energy produced by the plant will bring diversification to Nigeria’s energy mix and provide more power for the local distribution company at an affordable and stable cost in the long term.
Oshogbo Solar Training Centre: Dedicated Training to Advance Local Expertise
The project also includes delivery of a large training centre aimed at paving the way for future solar projects handled by local properly trained Nigerians by training up to 80 engineers and technicians per year in solar energy techniques.
