PRESENTATION OF VERGNET WALLIS & FUTUNA
The subsidiary VERGNET WALLIS & FUTUNA was established in Wallis & Futuna in September 2021, after two years of discussions and planning.
Today, the company employs 5 native islanders, in line with the wishes of the Regional Director Mr Tamaso Pooi, who is himself a native of these islands.
Highlight of 2022: the very first electric car made its appearance on these islands thanks to VWF.
Background:
Wallis and Futuna, officially the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands, is a French overseas collectivity, formed from three Polynesian customary chiefdoms and located in the southern hemisphere.
Its capital is Mata Utu, located in the Pacific Ocean 16,000 km from France and 1,900 km from New Caledonia.
Demographics: 11,421 inhabitants (2022)
The only overseas collectivity run by 3 governing bodies: Deliberative Assembly (Territorial Assembly), French prefecture and 3 customary chiefs (or kings: 1 in Wallis & 2 in Futuna)
